Other children are saved from human traffickers or rescued from young soldiers. And with little help from the government, many children are left homeless and they only have orphanages to turn to. There are no specific qualities needed to volunteer in Uganda orphanages. Though the knowledge of Uganda’s culture and diversity, flexibility, and ability to cope with the new environment can help improve the experience of the volunteers. Volunteers also have to be enthusiastic, reliable, flexible, and patient and strive to be good role models to the children.
Some of the activities the volunteers can engage in when volunteering in an Orphanage include; teaching kids subjects like English and Mathematics, playing with the kids, feeding, and many others. One of the ways to show love and care to the unfortunate.
